The objective of the PCSO VIP Program is to place volunteers in all areas within the department to assist sworn and non-sworn personnel in the performance of their duties. The volunteers bring with them an attitude that is positive and productive.
A VIP is a symbol of citizen involvement and support of the Polk County Sheriff's Office.
Below are the forms needed to apply for the VIP Program.
You may print off the forms (both the application and authorization to release information) and either drop them off in person at the Polk County Sheriff's Office, our lobby hours are Monday-Friday 8.30AM-5PM.
They may also be mailed to:

All volunteers undergo a background check and are given on-the-job training before starting work. Physical limitations, if any, are considered when assignments are made.
All volunteers are covered under the Polk County Worker's Compensation Insurance while on duty with the Sheriff's Office.
VIP does not charge for its services for county, municipal or non-profit organizations or funeral escorts, but accepts donations from private businesses when performing traffic or crowd control during special promotional events. These funds are used to purchase uniforms and equipment such as radios, traffic cones, and signs during assignments.
